Background of the Study
Government funding is a critical determinant of the quality of education, influencing infrastructure, teaching resources, and overall learning environments. In Ijebu North Local Government Area, Ogun State, variations in funding allocations have sparked debates over educational equity and quality (Olatunji, 2023). Adequate financial support can enhance teacher training, modernize classrooms, and improve student performance, while insufficient funding may lead to resource shortages and compromised educational standards. Recent research underscores that consistent government investment is correlated with improved academic outcomes and higher student satisfaction (Adeyemi, 2024). Statement of the Problem
Despite the recognized importance of government funding, schools in Ijebu North face challenges related to inadequate and inequitable financial support. This insufficiency affects the availability of modern teaching tools, infrastructure, and qualified educators, thereby undermining the quality of education (Olatunji, 2023). The inconsistent distribution of funds contributes to disparities in educational outcomes, highlighting a critical need to assess funding mechanisms and their direct impact on academic performance. Addressing these funding issues is essential to enhance the overall quality of education in the region.
